About WOMANISH

WOMANISH is the brainchild of Chandra Kamaria, Founder and Senior Playwright of Harkins House Productions (HHP). As a Black woman and playwright, Chandra has been encouraged by many other Black women in the arts, both past and present. Some women artists from the past have fallen into relative obscurity and some from the present are on the verge of establishing themselves as major forces.  WOMANISH is an effort to celebrate these women artists while inspiring others to offer their artistic gifts to the world.

The event will be held Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Crosstown Arts in Midtown Memphis. Currently, we are looking for dynamic Black women artists in Memphis and the surrounding areas. Submit a contact form today and more details will follow via email.
